Why Engineering & Coding?

Both engineering and computing are among the fastest-growing occupations in the U.S. and the global economy. PTAA uses Project Lead The Way’s Gateway unit studies to focus on three areas:

• Design and Modeling — students use the design process to understand creativity and innovation, then apply what they learn by designing a solution to a real-world problem.
• Automation and Robotics — students trace the history and impact of automation and robotics and build with the VEX robotics platform.
• Computer Science & Coding — students learn programming and computational thinking as part of the core curriculum.
